Bandage Scissors
Bandage scissors are specially designed for patient safety while cutting gauze, bandages, and dressing materials. Their angled design and blunt tip help prevent injury to the skin while cutting thin medical materials. There are two main types of bandage scissors: Lister scissors and Knowles scissors. Lister scissors are commonly used for sizing dressings, removing bandages, and cutting thicker materials such as plaster and fabric. They feature an elongated lower blade with a flattened blunt tip that easily slides between the bandage and the patient’s skin, allowing safe removal of dressings. These scissors are also useful in medical procedures such as cesarean sections. Knowles scissors are lightweight and durable. They are designed with a protective tip on the upper blade to ensure patient safety while cutting thicker dressing materials.
